The DA40NG is a sister product of the gasoline-powered DA40 XLT that has been popular with aviation enthusiasts.
Diamond 40 Aircraft Overview
Due to its composite-built fuselage composition, the aircraft is light-weighted and has a lower fuel consumption compared to other conventional training aircrafts that are made from aluminium alloy.
Despite being built by composite, the landing gear attachments and high impact areas are reinforced to withstand hard landings during operations.
The DA40NG is built-in with the Austro AE300 turbo-charged engine provides amazing economy, power and performance. All the work to be done as a pilot are gone. There is no more lean of peak or rich of peak and no run ups to do as it is fully automated.
Flying the DA40NG is as simple as turning it on, starting the engine and fly. With no mixture throttle, flying is as convenient as controlling the power throttle.
The cheaper JetA1 fuel, compared to AvGas is simply economical for the operator/owners with the fuel being available anywhere around the world.
Another feature of the AE300 is that it can also be powered by palm oil bio diesel which in Malaysia, is in abundance and easy to purchase.
